I put in six asparagus plants last year. Despite the best efforts of the chooks, I have three plants STILL ALIVE. (Yes, miracles do happen).

And now they're even starting to produce spears that are big enough to eat.

After reading your post I rushed outside to berate my asparagus only to find I had a spear too. I put 4 plants in 2 years ago but only one survived. This will be the first year I can harvest as they were 2nd year crowns when I put them in. Won't be sharing!
